FAQs On Prostate Health

Diet is one of the keys to a healthy prostate. So is exercise, lifestyle and how you manage stress.

Did you know that American blacks and African blacks have very different rates of prostate cancer ? A high fat diet is the key to the problem here. The black men living in America have a much higher ratio of fat in their diet. It has been shown that black Africans have a much lower amount of fat and this has also been demonstrated when these men moved to America and adopted the US diet. Their rates of cancer jumped tenfold !

When we are subject to stress and or emotional problems, we may do everything we can to control these and bottle them up. This blockage of energy can damage circulation and just as a sedentary existence is not going to do your prostate any good, well, suppressed emotions are just as bad ! Needless to say stress over a prolonged period will cause muscles to tighten up and blood and energy to the prostate will be restricted. The prostate is composed of a myriad of tiny blood vessels and therefore needs the blood circulating freely to keep it healthy and free from toxins accumulating.

General lifestyle also contributes to the health or illness of your prostate. Exercise promotes circulation and relieves tension in the body, which greatly facilitates a healthy prostate.

Like every other part of the body, the prostate needs a steady supply of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, carbohydrates, and essential fatty acids, as well as enzymes, phytochemicals, and other substances found in food.

Ideally, we would get all the nutrients and phytochemicals we need from food. Unfortunately, many of us begin with a nutrient deficit because our foods are so beautifully produced that little thought is given to their nutritional value.
